Crazy hair day

Jarvis and Grace

On Friday 27 April, our school held the annual ‘CRAZY HAIR DAY’ to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation. This is the third year we have run the event and each year is bigger and better than the last.

Events on the day included: a teacher hair raffle, jellybean guessing competition, coloured hair spraying, teacher watermelon eating competition, sausage sizzle and coffee van, throwing wet sponges at teachers and senior students and taping 2 of our senior students to the wall with duct tape.

We also had 2 brave students Jarvis (Year 6) and Grace (Year 3) shave their heads for the cause, with Jarvis raising $85 and Grace raising over a whopping $1100 in just 4 days!

We had some targets to meet, for the following events to occur – all of which we were able to excitedly watch happen.

Raise $700 = Steve (Groundsman) has legs waxed and Mrs Wheat (Deputy) has face painted and henna design on arm

Raise $750 = Mr Kennedy (Deputy) has his eyebrows shaved off

Raise $800 = Mr Knowles (Principal) has his head covered in a henna design

Our school incredibly raised over $2500 in total with money still coming in! What an amazing effort by the staff, students and community of Caboolture State School. Thank you so much to everyone who supported the day. A special mention to the following businesses who donated money and resources:

• Heirloom Café – Noosaville

• Golden Circle Morayfield

• Elders Real Estate Morayfield
